About this ride
We begin our journey at the Casa de Campo lake, where we'll join the green cycling ring. From there, we'll start a linear out-and-back route of approximately 35 kilometers along the Manzanares River. We'll cross the San Fernando Bridge, a historic 18th-century bridge that once connected the city to the Royal Site of El Pardo. Afterward, we'll leave the cycling ring and enter a pleasant dirt track alongside the river. During the ride, we'll pass the former bathing area of Playa de Madrid, very popular in the 20th century. The route culminates at the El Pardo Dam, a 17th-century structure that still supplies water to the city. There, we'll make a brief stop to recharge, rest a bit, and admire the dam's iconic jet before beginning our return journey. El Pardo is also home to the El Pardo Palace, a royal residence since the 16th century, and although we won't pass directly by it, there's always the option of stopping to see it. It's a flat route suitable for all levels, ideal for enjoying nature, history, and a unique setting without leaving Madrid. 📍 Meeting point: El Urogallo I restaurant, next to the kiosk opposite.
