2. Privacy (summary)

Bicicita connects cyclists to ride in groups, discover routes, and organize meetups. We process personal data in accordance with GDPR (EU) 2016/679 and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

2.1 Data we process

  • Account and profile: email, alias, password (not in plain text), name/profile, photo (if uploaded), city/locality, level, discipline(s).
  • Date of birth: for age checks and age-appropriate experiences.
  • Usage and activity: groups, posts, comments, interactions.
  • Messages: chat content and communications with support/reports.
  • Location (if enabled): approximate or precise location to show nearby cyclists/groups and related features.
  • Technical data: error logs, performance, security, and abuse/fraud prevention.

2.2 Purposes

  • Provide the service (account, profile, groups, chat).
  • Connect you with compatible cyclists (area, level, discipline).
  • Security and moderation (reports, blocking, anti-spam).
  • Support.
  • Product improvement (analytics/performance).
  • Service communications (important notices).
  • Bicicita marketing only if you accept it (unsubscribe anytime).

2.3 Legal basis

  • Performance of a contract (use of the service).
  • Consent (for example: precise location, marketing, non-essential web cookies).
  • Legitimate interest (security, anti-fraud, service integrity).
  • Legal obligation (compliance and legal requests).

2.4 Rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, and portability, and withdraw consent where applicable by writing to info@bicicita.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD).

2.5 Account deletion

You can start deletion from the app: Settings → Delete account. When your account is deleted, you will lose access and associated data will be deleted or anonymized, except what is required for legal or security obligations.

2.6 Minors and security

3. Terms of use (excerpt)

By using Bicicita, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3.1 Basic rules

Not allowed: harassment, threats, hate, sexualization of minors, explicit/non-consensual sexual content, doxxing, spam/scams, impersonation, gratuitous violence, or dangerous activities. Bicicita may remove content and apply measures (warnings, temporary block, suspension, or cancellation).

3.2 User-generated content (UGC)

Each user is responsible for what they publish. By publishing, you grant Bicicita a non-exclusive license limited to what is necessary to display and operate the service within Bicicita.

3.3 Responsibilities for meetups and rides

Bicicita is a platform to connect cyclists. Meetups and rides are private initiatives organized by users themselves.

  • Bicicita does not act as organizer, professional guide, active tourism company, or insurer.
  • Each participant is responsible for complying with regulations, assessing their level/gear/conditions, and acting prudently (helmet, lights when applicable).
  • Bicicita does not control route/terrain conditions, weather, bike maintenance, or participants’ behavior.
  • In case of accident or incident, users must handle it according to applicable law and, where relevant, through their personal insurance.

3.4 Limitation of liability (platform)

To the extent permitted by law:

  • Bicicita does not guarantee uninterrupted service availability.
  • Bicicita is not responsible for user conduct or content, although it acts on reports and applies moderation.

4. Cookie policy (web)

4.1 What are cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies are small files/identifiers stored in your browser to allow the site to work, remember preferences, and, if you authorize it, measure usage to improve the platform.

4.2 Types of cookies we use

A) Essential cookies (always active). Required for basic operation (authentication and language preferences). They cannot be disabled.

B) Analytics cookies (optional). They help us understand how you use Bicicita in aggregate to improve the platform. They are only activated if you accept them.

4.3 Cookie management

You can manage your preferences from the cookie panel (Accept/Reject/Configure, when available) and from your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features may not work properly.
