Fuenfría Pass. Route for MTB, gravel or ebike

📍 Meeting point: Cercedilla Renfe train station ⏰ Schedule: 09:00 h 🗺️ Route: Cercedilla → Las Dehesas → Mirador de los Poetas → Puerto de la Fuenfría → Collado de Marichiva → Collado del Rey → return via the same route 🌲 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Route starting and ending at the Cercedilla Renfe train station. We will ascend to Las Dehesas to take the historic Carretera de la República (Republic Road), a wide forest track built in the 1930s that was never completed and which today constitutes one of the most emblematic routes in the Sierra de Guadarrama. During the climb we will pass by the Mirador de los Poetas, a natural balcony dedicated to great writers such as Antonio Machado, Luis Rosales and Vicente Aleixandre, from which you can enjoy magnificent views of the Cercedilla valley and the surrounding mountains. We will continue to the Fuenfría Pass (1,796 m), a historic route used since Roman times to connect both sides of the mountain range, surrounded by a spectacular mountain pine forest. From there we will continue towards the Marichiva Pass and the King's Pass, where we will begin our return along the same route.
