3. Terms of use (excerpt)
By using Bicicita, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3.1 Basic rules
Not allowed: harassment, threats, hate, sexualisation of minors, explicit/non-consensual sexual content, doxxing, spam/scams, impersonation, gratuitous violence, dangerous activities, or organising or promoting rides that break traffic or road-safety rules. Bicicita may remove content and take action (warnings, temporary block, suspension or cancellation).
3.2 User-generated content (UGC)
Each user is responsible for what they publish. By publishing, you grant Bicicita a non-exclusive license limited to what is necessary to display and operate the service within Bicicita.
3.3 Responsibilities for meetups and rides
Bicicita is a platform to connect cyclists. Meetups and rides are private initiatives organized by users themselves.
- Bicicita does not act as organizer, professional guide, active tourism company, or insurer.
- Each participant is responsible for complying with regulations, assessing their level/gear/conditions, and acting prudently (helmet, lights when applicable).
- Bicicita does not control route/terrain conditions, weather, bike maintenance, or participants’ behavior.
- In case of accident or incident, users must handle it according to applicable law and, where relevant, through their personal insurance.
Ride organizer. The user who creates a ride is its organizer. The organizer describes the ride with truthful details (date, time, meeting point, route and level) and undertakes that it complies with traffic rules. Being an organizer creates no employment, commercial or agency relationship with Bicicita.
Participant limit. Each ride accepts at most 49 participants, including the organizer. Traffic regulations require prior authorisation for cycling events of more than 50 participants that use or cross roads open to traffic. The organizer may set a lower limit. Once the limit is reached, the platform accepts no more sign-ups.
No splitting rides. Splitting the same ride into several rides to get around that limit is not allowed. A ride is the same ride when it shares date, time slot and meeting point or route, and its participants will ride together.
Rides that need authorisation. Bicicita does not request authorisations from traffic or other authorities. Anyone who wants to organise a ride that needs them must do so outside the platform, obtain them on their own and act as organizer before the authorities, with the insurance the regulations require.
Group admins. The admin permissions Bicicita grants some users are only for managing the group within the platform. They do not make Bicicita the organizer of the group's rides. When an admin creates or edits a ride, they have the same obligations as any organizer.
Insurance. Bicicita does not provide insurance cover to participants. We recommend having liability and accident insurance, for example a cycling federation licence.
3.4 Limitation of liability (platform)
To the extent permitted by law:
- Bicicita does not guarantee uninterrupted service availability.
- Bicicita is not responsible for user conduct or content, although it acts on reports and applies moderation.
- Bicicita may cancel, hide or change the participant limit of any ride that breaches these terms or may put participants or third parties at risk, and may remove a group's admin permissions.
