Badges and levels in Bicicita | Find your cycling rhythm

At Bicicita we are building a cycling community, not a leaderboard.
That's why there are two important things that need to be explained well: badges and levels.
Badges are distinctive features within a profile. They serve to identify certain profiles within the community.
For example, there's a badge for active users , which is awarded based on usage and participation within the app. It's not just about "who pedals the hardest," but about who contributes real activity: participating, moving around, creating interaction, and helping to keep the community alive.
There is also the guide badge , designed for people who organize outings, suggest routes, or have a more active role in helping other cyclists discover new plans.
And then there are the levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Here's something important: the level isn't a condemnation or a medal. It's a reference point to make each departure clearer and to prevent anyone from signing up blindly.
In general, the groups are clearly differentiated by skill level. There are groups designed for beginners, others for intermediate routes, and others for more experienced cyclists or those looking to challenge themselves. This helps each rider find a group that best suits their riding style.
Furthermore, each user can change their level from their profile. Because not every day is the same, not all routes are equally demanding, and you don't always want to go all out.
You can be advanced and one day sign up for a quiet outing.
You can start from scratch and gradually level up.
You can try a route, realize it was too much, and adjust for the next one.
The idea isn't to limit anyone. It's to help make meetups more honest, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone.
Bicicita is about finding people to go cycling with, but also about doing it with purpose: knowing the type of route, the level, who is going and what to expect.
Explore. Connect. Pedal.
